Named after the Gate of Heavenly Peace to its north, it is where China's national ceremonies, flag-raising rituals, and various official events are held. The square, a symbolic center both politically and culturally in Chinese history, is surrounded by important structures such as the National Museum, the Monument to the People's Heroes, the Mausoleum of Mao Zedong, and Qianmen Gate to the south. Later, we will visit the Forbidden City, the imperial palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties completed in 1420. Known as the Forbidden City because it was closed to the public for centuries, this place served as the residence of Chinese emperors and the political center of the country for approximately 500 years. With nearly 980 buildings and over 8,700 rooms, it is the largest palace complex in the world. After our visit here, we will have our lunch at a local restaurant in this area. In the afternoon, we will explore the Houhai Area, then continue our tour towards the Temple of Heaven. This was once a place where Chinese emperors worshipped heaven and prayed for a bountiful harvest. Here, we will feel the perfect harmony between architecture and nature, and the spirit of peace and tranquility of the Chinese people. Surrounded by lush greenery, the pass offers very pleasant views, especially in spring and autumn. While offering relatively easier climbing options compared to other sections, some parts are quite steep. We will visit the Summer Palace, the former summer retreat of Chinese emperors. This magnificent imperial garden complex is famous for its harmonious landscape design, lakes, pavilions, bridges, and traditional architecture, reflecting the elegance of classical Chinese garden art. After our visit, we will have our lunch at a local restaurant in this area. In the afternoon, we will return to central Beijing and visit the Olympic Stadium area. We will see the stadium from the outside and have time to take photos. After the visit, there will be free time for shopping at a local market. The temple holds special importance because these statues were brought from Myanmar to Shanghai. The temple architecture is in the traditional Chinese Buddhist style and is still an active monastery used by monks. After our visit here, we will go to Yu Garden, a famous classical Chinese garden from the Ming Dynasty period located in the Old City area of the city. The garden was built between 1559–1577 by an official named Pan Yunduan as a peaceful retreat for his family. We will continue our tour with The Bund, Shanghai's famous waterfront located along the Huangpu River. Then, we will have our lunch at a local restaurant in this area.
